Central Board of Secondary Education has released the results of UGC NET June 2015 exam, the results were announced yesterday. CBSE had conducted the National Eligibility Test on 28 June, on the behalf of University Grants Commission.
The UGC NET is conducted twice a year (June & December) for determining the eligibility of candidates for the award of Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) and for determining eligibility for appointment of Lecturers in Indian universities and colleges.
Earlier the test was organized by UGC, but for past one year, the responsibility of conducting the test was rendered to CBSE. CBSE had successfully conducted the test twice (December 2014 and June 2015) following all the rules and regulations laid down by UGC. The answer keys of all the three papers were also released online for maintaining the transparency in the system. Now with the time closing by, CBSE announced the results of UGC NET June 2015 and has released the notification for the next NET to be conducted in December this year.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) of India is a statutory body set up by the Indian Union government in 1956 to coordinate, determine and maintain the standards of higher education in the Country. UGC also conducts NET in coordination with CSIR for appointment of teachers in colleges and universities. It has made NET qualification mandatory for teaching at Graduation level and at Post Graduation level since July 2009.
The candidates were required to appear for a written test of 200 marks, the test was conducted in 83 subjects at 89 selected cities. Students who have qualified the test for the award of junior research fellowship, would get a basic stipend of Rs 25,000 a month along with the house rent allowance (30% in tier I cities) to pursue their research work for a period of five years.
