CAPASC General list to be released for admission to 2108 seats

capasc general listThe general list for commencement of admission process to Arts and Science courses in two government and four government-run society colleges in Puducherry will be displayed soon. Friday was the last day for submitting the application forms as the schedule was revised by the authority. A press release was issued from the behalf of authorities stating that the process of preparing a general list is undergoing and would be published within few days. The merit list would be accessible at the online portal www.bgcw.puducherry.gov.in.

As per the sources, 5620 students have applied for a total of 2108 seats that are available in the colleges. The courses include B.A., B.Sc., B.Com., BBA and BCA course. According to the revised schedule, the last date for submitting filled-in applications was 19 June. The seats would be allotted to candidates in the six colleges based on merit through the counselling process.

CAPASC refers to the Centralised Admissions Procedure for Arts and Science Colleges (CAPASC). The process was first started in the year 2010 for admission to arts and science courses in the Union Territory.

Two Government Colleges are :

1. Tagore Arts College, Puducherry
2. Bharathidasan Government College for Women, Puducherry

Government Sponsored Society Colleges are :

1. Indira Gandhi College of Arts and Science, Kadirkamam
2. Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Arts College, Kalitheerthalkuppam
3. Rajiv Gandhi Arts and Science College, Thavalakuppam
4. Kasthurba College for Women, Villianur

Courses are as follows :

B.A. {Tamil, English/English Language and Literature, Functional English (Vocational), French, Historical Studies, Economics}
B.Com., B.Com. Corporate Secretaryship, B.Com. Office Management (Vocational)
B.Sc. Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Plant Science, Zoology, Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics (Home Science) (Vocational), Computer Science

CAPASC merit list will be prepared on the basis of the method of normalisation. The list of all registered applicants and their normalised percentage for all undergraduate Arts and Science courses would be declared by CAPASC authority and displayed on the notice-board in the premises of Bharathidasan Government College for Women, Puducherry.

The shortlisted candidates would be invited to appear for the counselling as per their inclusion in the merit list. Candidates would have to deposit non-refundable counselling fee of Rs.200 (Rs.50 for SC/ST candidates) for counselling.
