BIA partners with AP govt to strengthen Childhood Education

Looking towards the future of education sector of the state, Andhra Pradesh state government took a step further in establishing a knowledge hub in the state. Bridge International Academies (BIA) has showed its interest in collaborating with Andhra Pradesh government.

Bridge International Academies is an organization best known to provide education to the poor children from around the world in pre primary and primary level. BIA provides education to children belonging to economically weaker section of the society. Thousands of children are availing education in over 400 institutions set by BIA, spread across various parts of Nigeria, Kenya and Uganda. With the aim of providing world class education to the children of poor families, BIA has established numerous institutions in various parts of the world.

Bridge International Academies now has decided to open up new academics in collaboration with Andhra Pradesh. Co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer, Ms. Shannon May of BIA announced to bring up their work in the state to promote education in weaker section of the society. In a meeting with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. N. Chandrababu which was held on Thursday, May volunteered their support in helping the state to establish a knowledge hub in the state. Recently, Chandrabau Naidu led government also tied up with TISS to implement skill development program in the state to promote employability.

Owing to the situation of the education sector of the state, Mr. Naidu welcomes the support of BIA in strengthening the primary level education of the state. Adding to his speech Mr. Naidu stated that the involvement of the BIA might help in improving the outcomes in the education sector of the state by using the low cost technologies. AP govt also plans to achieve 100% literacy rate by 2019 for which the mere roots of education needs to be strengthened.

BIA is considered to be a fast growing organization with its new centres being opened up in various parts of Asia and Africa. Bridge International Academy is supported by many prominent investors like Mark Zuckerberg-CEO of Facebook, Bill Gates-founder of Microsoft, Khosla Ventures and World Bank Group.

As for now BIA will establish it’s temporary headquarter at Vijaywada. Later on after the successfully implementation of scheme in the state the headquarter is supposed to be shifted to Amaravathi, capital of Andhra Pradesh.
