April 16, 2017, morning update: I mean what happened? Did BCECE officials leave their jobs or just forgot about this exam? Cause this is what it looks like when the board left lakhs of candidates hanging by a thread in this case. Exam is today, believe that? This is what candidates are supposed to believe since BCECE certainly has not notified of postponement of the test. The board just went silent. A notice of delaying of admit cards in March and no update after that. And if the board has, by any chance, issued any note in newspapers, that’s of no value because judging by the candidates’ reactions, they certainly don’t know what is happening.
One of our readers informed us yesterday that when he contacted BCECEB, one official said that there is no way exam can be held on April 16 (read the comment below). So, if that was the point, why not notify the students?
It’s obvious that most of you would have guessed the exam won’t be conducted and would have made that decision sometime on Saturday evening. But the issue remains at large that what has happened the Bihar’s education department?
Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) is supposed to conduct the stage 1 entrance examination named BCECE tomorrow (April 16) for admission to the professional undergraduate courses in the state, but surprisingly, the board has failed to issued the admit cards to registered candidates so far. It’s April 15, the exam is tomorrow, and BCECEB has left candidates in a real tight spot.
It’s completely ridiculous actually. The board hasn’t even issued any notice addressing the matter at hand. The admit cards were originally scheduled to be released on March 21 but instead of doing that, the board issued a notice that read, “Due to unavoidable reasons Admit Card of BCECE-2017 (First Stage) will not be issued from 21.03.2017. Next Date for downloading Admit Card will be intimated later on.”
And that ‘next date for downloading admit card’ never really came. Somewhere over/under 1 lakh candidates take the test each year for admission to the engineering, pharmacy, agricultural and medical courses in the institutions across Bihar.
We’ve tried contacting the BCECEB officials via the helpline numbers provided at the official website (www.bceceboard.com) but those numbers too aren’t working. In this age of ‘Digital India’, what BCECEB is doing is nothing sort of ridiculous, putting the candidates’ careers at stake. For a board responsible for holding exams for lakhs of students and facilitating admissions to all those, it’s a shame that a single notice couldn’t be put online which might, at least, put an end to the cluelessness candidates are feeling at this time.
Following is the address and other details of the board. Candidates, see if you can get anything.
- BCECE board, I.A.S. Association Building, Near Patna Airport, Patna – 800014, Bihar, India.
- BCECEB helpline no/contact numbers-0612-2220230, 0612-2225387.
- If you do get any update from the board, kindly comment below or e-mail us so we can convey the message to all candidates.
It is possible that the board might postpone the exam, seeing that it’s obvious. But nothing is confirmed for now. If the exam gets delayed, then it will also affect the further schedule.
Stay tuned, we’ll update once we have more for you.
