Assam TET 2016: The registrations for Teacher Eligibility Test in Assam (TET Assam) will begin today on August 16, 2016. The Rashtriya Madhyamik Siksha Abhijan (RMSA Assam) had released the official notification on July 29, according to which the eligible candidates will be able to submit the online application forms of Assam TET till August 31. The Assam government had brought the Assam Secondary Education (Provincialised) Service (Amendment) Rules, 2012 and accordingly the first TET for secondary education in Assam was organised in 2013 by Secondary Education Department, Government of Assam. The exam date for next TET is yet to be finalised, however, the application process commences in two days.
The Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) is conducted for determining the eligibility of a candidate to be appointed as a teacher in government-run schools. It is to note here that the candidates seeking direct recruitment to teachers posts are required to appear and pass the TET with minimum 60 percent marks (55% marks for SC/ST/OBS/MOBC/PwD candidates). Only candidates having Bodo, Bengali, Hindi and Assamese as MIL in HSLC examination are allowed to apply for Assam TET exam. While the TET qualification serves as a mandatory qualification for teachers recruitment, the exact number of vacancies will be intimated by the concerned School Selection Committee. The Committee would hold interview of qualified candidates for final selection.
The interested candidates can apply for Assam TET from 16 August onwards. The RMSA Assam has set September 3, 2016, as the last date of fees payment at Bank. The application fee of Assam TET is Rs. 400. As the online application forms would be made available at www.rmsaassam.in, the detailed instruction for filling the online application form would also be uploaded, all the candidates are advised to go through the instructions carefully to avoid any mistake.
Assam TET question paper would consist of two parts; Part 1 – General Studies and Current Affairs and Part 2 – Pedagogy and General English. Each part would contain 100 objective type questions of 1 mark each. The candidates are required to score minimum qualifying marks in both the parts separately.
