Assam PAT 2017 held smoothly for increased polytechnic seats

For admissions to total 3,525 seats in diploma courses, the Directorate of Technical Education – DTE Asssam conducted the polytechnic admission test today. The Polytechnic Admission Test – Assam PAT 2017 was organized at Mangaldou, Tezpur and all 21 Polytechnics which will admit the students based on the admission test. As the test concluded at 12 noon, the PAT answer key will be provided to all the candidates shortly.

The online applications for Assam PAT 2017 were submitted from March 20 to May 5, while the admit cards were issued on May 12. The admission test will cater admissions to diploma courses in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics and Telecommunication, Automobile, Computer Engineering, Instrumentation Technology, Chemical, Textile Technology, Agricultural Engineering, Architectural Assistantship, Textile Chemistry and Design, Mechanical (Auto) Engineering, Bio-Medical, Printing Technology, Industrial & Production Engineering, Fashion Technology and Garment Technology.

Assam PAT 2017 was conducted as an offline test in a single shift of 2 hours from 10 am to 12 noon. The candidates were provided with the OMR sheets to mark the answers. The test comprised of questions on Mathematics & Science as the question paper carried maximum 100 marks. While there is no surety that DTE Assam will publish the PAT answer keys, some unofficial sources including coaching institutes may provide the answer keys of the question paper.

With the help of Assam PAT 2017 answer key, the students will be able to match their answers and analyse their performance in the admission test. As per the admission process followed by DTE, the selected students on the basis of PAT result will have to undergo the interview. The date and venue of the interviews will be published by DTE along with the Assam PAT result which will be declared within a month. The choice of polytechnic and branch of engineering of a candidate will be determined on the basis of merit of the admission test at the time of interview.

Last year, the test was conducted for admissions to 1545 seats available in 10 polytechnics, however, with the addition of 11 new polytechnics, there are as much as 3,525 seats on offer in the academic session 2017-18.
