The answer keys for Assam medical common entrance test (CEE-MEE) have been released by coaching institutes and the results for the examination are expected in August.
Dibrugarh University notified the Medical Entrance Examination (MEE) to be held in July for admission to MBBS and BDS courses offered in the colleges in Assam. The test has now been conducted on 16 & 17 July at 9 examination centres; Silchar, Bongaigaon, Nalbari, Lakhimpur, Guwahati, Tezpur, Nagaon, Jorhat and Dibrugarh. Assam MEE answer key have been released by some coaching institutes.
The test has been organised to shortlist students for admissions into 726 seats in 6 medical colleges, Government Medical College, Guwahati; Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh; Silchar Medical College, Silchar; Jorhat Medical College, Jorhat; Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College, Barpeta; Tezpur Medical College, Tezpur and 50 seats BDS course at Regional Dental College, Guwahati. Earlier in May, Dibrugarh University had conducted the Assam CEE (for admissions into B.E./B.Tech/BAMS/BHMS courses) and the result was also announced on June 8. As of now, the Assam MEE 2016 has been conducted on 16 & 17 July, the results are expected to be announced on or before August 2, 2016.
Assam MEE (CEE Medical) consisted of three papers, namely, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. All the three papers were of 2 hours duration and the test was based on the syllabus of Assam Higher Secondary Education Council/NCERT. Each paper consisted of 100 objective type questions, each carrying one mark. As there is no negative marking in Assam MEE 2016, the cut-off is expected to remain higher. The test papers were designed in four sets – A, B, C & D.
Assam MEE 2016 answer key has not been released by the University, however, some of the premier coaching institutions across the State have released MEE answer key prepared by their experts. Dibrugarh University will now start the process of evaluation of answer sheets and a merit list will be prepared on the basis of the total marks obtained by each candidate in all the subjects. The merit list will then be sent to the Director of Medical Education, Assam to conduct the counselling based on the Assam MEE result. As per the guidelines, a candidate is required to score a minimum of 50 percent marks in Assam MEE (in case of reserved category candidates, the minimum marks are 40 percent).
