ASRB Stenographer admit card 2017 has been issued by the Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) as the exam is set to be held on October 29, 2017. The candidates who have applied for Stenographer Grade III posts are required to download ASRB admit card, which is now available at ASRB’s website www.asrb.org.in and ICAR’s website www.icar.org.in.
ASRB functions under the Department of Agricultural Research & Education, Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). On August 18, ASRB released the notification no. 2(2)/ 2016-Exam.II to fill 78 Lower Division Clerk and 95 Stenographer Grade III posts. The applications for the same were filled from August 31 to September 25. Initially, ASRB had scheduled both the exams for October 29, but on October 12, ASRB notified that the LDC exam has been postponed and it will announce a fresh date for the exam.
ASRB Steno exam will be conducted as per schedule, the Board also mentioned. ASRB has also increased the number of exam centers from 21 to 29. ASRB Stenographer exam will be conducted as an online computer-based test in two slots on October 29. The slot timings will be 10 am to 12 noon for SLot 1 and 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm for Slot 2. The candidates can check their respective slot timing from ASRB Stenographer admit card 2017.
To download the ASRB admit card 2017, the candidates are required to use the Registration Number and Date of Birth. The candidates are required to bring along the original of the Aadhaar card or any other valid photo identity card and two passport size photographs, apart from the Admission Certificate (admit card) issued by ASRB.
ASRB Steno Exam Scheme: The online exam will comprise of total 200 questions distributed among three sections. Section 1 – General Intelligence and Section 2 – General Awareness will have 50 questions each. Section 3 will have 100 questions on English Language and Comprehension. Each question will carry 1 mark, hence the maximum marks for ASRB Steno exam will be 200. The candidates are advised to answer the questions carefully as each wrong answer will lead to deduction of 0.25 marks.
Selection Criteria: The candidates are required to score minimum qualifying marks in the online test which are 45% for General category, 40% for OBC and 35% for SC/ ST/ Ex-Servicemen/ Divyang. Those candidates declared qualified in the online test will be shortlisted in the order of merit for Skill Test in Stenography/ Typing in the ratio of 1:20 (20 candidates for one post).
ASRB will administer the Skill Test at 10 centers and the candidates who qualify in the Skill Test will be recommended for appointment as Stenographer Grade III at ICAR HQ, New Delhi and its various Institutes including vacancies in the Krishi Vigyan Kendras located all over the Country. The final selection will be made as per the merit list prepared on the basis of marks in the online test.
