APPSC group 2 recruitment exam 2016 notification released; apply from today

Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has announced that candidates will be able to apply for group 2 exam 2016 for recruitment to 982 posts from today (November 11). APPSC Group 2 notification had been released two days back to fill approx. 982 posts in Municipal Commissioner Subordinate Service, Commercial Taxes Subordinate Service, Revenue Subordinate Service, Secretariat Subordinate Service, Treasuries & Accounts Subordinate Service among others under Andhra Pradesh Government.

APPSC The eligible candidates can register from November 11, while the last date to apply online for APPSC Group 2 recruitment is December 10, 2016.

The applications for Group 2 posts notified by the APPSC can only be made online at the Commission site The OC category candidates are required to pay Rs. 250 as application processing fee and Rs 80 as examination fee. Other candidates are exempted to pay the examination fee.

The vacancies notified under APPSC Group 2 notification 2016 include 442 Executive and 540 Non-Executive posts. The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission has also announced that a screening test would be organized if the number of applications received exceeds 25,000. Such test, if conducted, will be held on February 26 in offline mode. The screening test would be of 150 marks and the candidates will be tested for their knowledge on Current Affairs, Constitution and Economic Development of India. The final selection would solely depend on the main exam which would be taken as a computer based online exam. The main exam would be conducted on May 20 & 21, 2017.

If the screening test is conducted, a total of 49,100 candidates would be shortlisted for the main exam. The online main exam would consist of three papers of 150 marks each. The Commission has fixed 40 percent marks as the minimum qualifying marks in the main exam for OC category. The same remains at 35 percent and 30 percent for BC and SC/ST/PH category.

The candidates of some posts will also be required to appear for a qualifying exam – “Proficiency in office automation with usage of computers and associated software” of 50 marks.
