The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test popularly known as NEET is expected to begin its online application process in the month of January 2018 for the academic session 2018-19. All the eligible and aspiring candidates will be able to apply online at the official website of NEET. NEET is an entrance examination in India, for students who wish to study any graduate medical course (MBBS/ dental course (BDS) or postgraduate course (MD / MS) in government or private medical colleges in India.
NEET- UG replaced the All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT) and all individual MBBS exams conducted by states or colleges themselves in 2013. However, many colleges and institutes had taken a stay order and conducted private examinations for admission to their MBBS and BDS courses. Last year, the NEET entrance exam was held on May 07 and results were declared on May 23, 2017. Further, a total of 11,38,890 students registered for the NEET 2017 including 1522 NRIs, 480 OCIs, 70 PIOs and 613 Foreigners.
National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2017 is a common exam conducted by CBSE for admission to the following: All India Quota Seats, State Government Quota Medical Seats, Private, Management and NRI Quota Seats in all Private Medical / Dental Colleges or any Private/Deemed University, and Central Pool Quota Seats.
Undergraduate courses at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, Postgraduate Institute for Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh, Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research JIPMER are outside the NEET’s purview, as these institutes were set up by separate laws. As per the statement released by the Union Health Ministry, NEET-UG will be conducted in six additional languages from the commencing academic session. The six languages in which the exams will be conducted are Gujarati, Marathi, Bengali, Assamese, Telugu and Tamil, apart from conventional English, Hindi.
The entrance test is usually conducted on the first Sunday of May month, so the test date is likely to be May 6th, 2018, this time around. However, the official notice still remains unannounced.
As per the notification released by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) on October 17, 2017, the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post-Graduation (NEET-PG) will be conducted on January 7, 2018. Candidates can register for NEET PG through the online portal from October 31, 2017, to November 27, 2017. Examination fee for General / OBC candidates is INR 3750, and SC/ST/PWD/ (PH) candidates are INR 2750.
The fee for the examination has to be remitted through the payment gateway, at the time of submission of application form, using a credit card or debit card issued by Banks of India or through Internet banking. The results of NEET PG are expected to be declared on January 31, 2018. Candidates can choose the exam city through online registration system on first come first serve basis.
