APGENCO will conduct AE recruitment exam on April 23, admit cards soon

APGENCOAndhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation Limited (APGENCO) is going to hold a written examination on April 23 for filling Assistant Engineer (AE) posts. Thousands of aspirants have applied for 94 Trainee Assistant Engineer posts and the admit cards to the candidates will be issued in a day or two. Candidates may keep track of the official website (www.apgenco.gov.in) for updates.

The official notification (no. 1/CGM (Adm, IS&ERP)/2017) of the recruitment of Trainee Assistant Engineers was issued by the Corporation on March 3 and the applications were opened on March 6. The application facility closed on April 5 and since then the applicants have been waiting for the release of APGENCO admit card.

APGENCO is the largest Power Generating Company of Andhra Pradesh state with the installed capacity of 4588 MW and will be recruiting Assistant Engineers for its Power Generating Stations across the State. The AE posts are distributed among different engineering streams as: Electrical (44), Mechanical (26), Electronics (6) and Civil (18).

The written exam will be organized at Vijayawada only and will comprise of two sections (A & B). Section A will consist of questions on core academic curriculum of respective discipline, while Section B will test the candidates on analytical aptitude. The minimum qualifying marks are 40% for unreserved category candidates, 35% for BCs and 30% for SC, ST and Physically challenged candidates.

During the written exam, the candidates will be provided two copies of OMR Answer Sheet, the original copy on top and the duplicate copy below. After completion of exam, the candidates will have to hand over the original copy to the invigilator and they will be allowed carry the duplicate sheet for record. The candidates have been advised to carry a Blue or Black ball point pen at the time of exam.

The selection to the AE posts will be on the basis of merit list derived from written examination and the selected candidates will undergo training for a period of one year. The selection list will be drawn in two parts; First part will comprise 40% posts consisting of combined merit list of locals as well as non-locals, while the second part will comprise the balance 60% posts consisting of locals only. The candidates will be selected and allotted to Zones/ Generating Stations as per their Rank in the merit list and as per zonal preferences.
