Minister Mr. Ganta Srinivasa Rao had released the SSC results last year at a press event. This year too, an event will be hosted for results announcement.

Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Directorate of Government Examinations, Andhra Pradesh had conducted the S.S.C. public examinations in the state from March 17 to April 01, 2017. Over 6.5 lakh students have given the board exams this year (precise data unavailable at the moment), which now has the grading system, at thousands of test centers. Not to much surprise, the reports of paper leaks marred the exams, with malpractice involved at many places. However, that did not affect the schedule of examinations.

The exams concluded on April 1 and the spot evaluation began from April 3. The evaluation process also faced delays as many teachers went on protests. Last year the results were published on May 9th, while this time AP SSC Results 2017 are coming on 6th May.

In 2016, a total of 6,52,000 students appeared for SSC examinations in Andhra Pradesh. Out of them, 6,16,000 passed the examinations putting the overall passing percentage at about 94 percent. In 2015, 6.50,444 students including 33,386 private students appeared for the examinations. Of them, 5,54,336 had passed and the overall passing percentage recorded was 91.42 percent. The pass percentage among private students have been really low, in the range of 58-60 percent.

With signs of improvements in pass percentage as well as in quality of education being imparted, the state officials are hopeful that the trend will continue this year. The Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has also expressed his wish to bring the passing percentage closer to 100 percent. According to 2011 population census, the literacy rate in the state is 67.66 percent, an upward trend. However, in comparison to other states, AP stands at 32nd position on the list which includes states and union territories as well.

After the declaration of Manabadi SSC results 2017, the board will also hold supplementary examinations in July-August for failed candidates to save a year of theirs. Somewhere around 50-70 thousand students fill forms to take supplementary exams.

While AP 10th result 2017 is being declared on May 3, Telangana will declare it’s SSC exam results on May 7 for a total of 5.38 lakh students.

It has been a trend in the state to declare 10th class results late and declaring intermediate results soon, the reason being that intermediate students have to appear for entrance tests and proceed for admission procedures. The same importance should also be given to SSC results since many of the entrances, especially with diploma/polytechnic courses require SSC pass certificate as an eligibility. Even though the academic session of first-year intermediate schooling begins in July, most schools are done with admissions in May only, before the annual summer holidays commence.
