The answer key for AP Police SI mains exam 2016 has been released by APSLPRB. Andhra Pradesh State Level Police Recruitment Board (APSLPRB) had conducted the prelims written test on November 27. The written test was organized across 217 test venues wherein the attendance was recorded at over 90 percent. A total of 1,12,606 candidates appeared for Paper 1, while 1,12,434 candidates took the Paper 2, AP Police Recruitment Board said in a press release.
APSLPRB has issued official recruitment notice on September 17, 2016, to fill 707 vacancies for Sub-Inspectors, Reserved Sub Inspectors, Deputy Jailor and Assistant Matron posts. These vacancies include 355 posts of SI (Civil), 113 RSI (AR) posts, 9 RSI (SAR CPL) posts, 209 RSI (APSP) posts, 16 Deputy Jailor posts and 5 posts of Assistant Matron. The SI and RSI posts are to be filled in Police Department, while Deputy Jailor and Assistant Matron positions are in Prisons and Correctional Services Department. As per the official figures, 1,23,937 applications were received by APSLPRB for these posts.
A total of 1,23,577 applicants were issued hall tickets to appear for the preliminary written test (both Paper 1 & 2). APSLPRB said in a press release that Biometric system was used at all the centres to prevent malpractice and impersonation. About 20 Finger Printing Bureau officials were pressed into service and the examination was held peacefully across the state.
The preliminary written test consisted of two papers : Paper 1 (Arithmetic and Test of Reasoning/Mental Ability) and Paper 2 (General Studies). The test was conducted in two shifts on Sunday, with Paper 1 in first shift (10 am to 1 pm) followed by Paper 2 in second shift (2.30 pm to 5.30 pm). Both the papers had 100 questions each while the maximum marks of the test remain 200.
The Board had earlier said that the AP Police SI Key 2016 would be released on Monday at 6 PM, however, the same has been published at 7 pm. The candidates can access the key answer at the recruitment portal recruitment.appolice.gov.in. The AP Police SI Prelims Key will be released for all question paper sets A, B, C & D. The key answer would help the candidates analyze their performance and estimate the marks they will be scoring in the test. The candidates can submit objections on or before December 2 at 5 pm.
The candidates are required to qualify in each paper separately. The qualifying marks are 40 percent for OC candidates, 35 percent for BCs and 30 percent for SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen. The candidates scoring marks above or equal to the cut-off marks will be shortlisted for Physical Measurements Test (PMT) / Physical Efficiency Test (PET). The next step in the selection process will be a final written exam.
APSLPRB would upload the scanned copies of OMR sheets of all the candidates in 10 days along with the result of prelims test.
