Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), which stands as one of the most prestigious universities in the country, started the registration process for its engineering entrance examination on January 22nd. The examination, AMUEEE (Aligarh Muslim University Engineering Entrance Examination) will be conducted by the AMU for the B.Tech, B.E (Evening) and B.Arch courses offered by the university.
The registration process has started from 22nd January 2017 on the official site i.e. www.amu.ac.in. Interested candidates can fill the application for by visiting the official site. The application process will end on 22nd February 2017 in online mode while for offline mode it is 25th February. The application fee for B.tech, B.Arch and B.Tech both and B.E (Evening) is 550/-, 650/- and 350/-.
AMU offers B.Tech programmes in seven discipline – Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Petrochemical Engineering. There is a total of 365 seats across seven branches in B.Tech which would be filled through AMUEEE entrance test.
The candidates who have secured at least 50% marks in Diploma or in Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English in senior secondary school examination or its equivalent.
The examination paper will be comprised of 150 objective questions with four options containing 1 mark each. The examination paper would be like other engineering entrance exams which will contain questions on Physics, Chemistry and Maths. The exam will be of three hours duration and there will be a penalty of 1/4th marks for each incorrect response and no marks will be deducted for unattempted questions.
AMUEEE will be conducted on 30th April 2017 in only seven cities of India – Aligarh, Lucknow, Kolkata, Srinagar, Khanpara and Patna. Candidates can choose the examination centre according to their better accessibility. The examination will be conducted in two slots – for B.Tech programme (10:00 – 13:00) and for B.Arch Programme (15:00 – 18:00). The admit cards will be available from the second week of April and further counselling round will be notified later.
