Ambedkar University cut off 2016 and merit list: Ambedkar University is releasing the first merit list for admission to its undergraduate courses this year on 6th July. Instead of following the traditional system of releasing Ambedkar University cut off 2016 list this year, a merit list will be declared.
Cut-off/ merit list:
Ambedkar University, Delhi notified yesterday in talks with Indianexpress that it will release a merit list this year, ditching the cut-off list system, and citing this move as a ‘better principle’ for admissions. Dean of Student Services, Ambedkar University, Sanjay Sharma said “In the case of cut off list, you have to admit everyone who meets the cut-off, but a merit list will be different. It will be a list of students, 20% more than the number of seats allotted for a course.”
For example, if a course has 50 seats, the University will release a list of students slightly more than 50 who will be called for admission process. If some students drop out, the students in wait-list will get the seat.
Ambedkar University first cut off and merit list is scheduled to be out today and will be published on University’s website www.aud.ac.in, expected so in the evening.
Advantage for Delhites:
Since the soaring cut-offs in Delhi University are getting out of most local students of Delhi, admission to Ambedkar University is turning out to be a lifesaver for them. 85% of the seats in the University is reserved for Delhi students. And, the cut-off is expected to be in 80’s for UG courses.
3 times applications:
The University decided to go with the merit list publication considering the huge number of applications it received this year.
