America based e-commerce company Amazon was launched in India in 2013 and it has been trying to gain the top position since then. Flipkart, an Indian e-commerce giant was all over the market and it was very tough task for Amazon to combat. But gradually it made progress and came into existence as a valuable e-commerce company in Indian market.
Now moving forward, Amazon has launched Exam Central, a bookstore that will guide students and job aspirants for various entrance exams. As the exam season is coming up so it would be a great help for aspirants. Study material, exam calendar, solved papers, articles by popular authors and academicians by Amazon.
As it is difficult to find various exam related information on various sites, Amazon has made it easier by making a one stop shop. Exam Central provides information of exams like GATE, GRE, GMAT, UPSC Mains, CAT, IIT-JEE, Bank Vacancies, Professional Exams etc.
“We are very excited to launch a dedicated Exam Central bookstore under books department on Amazon.in as a one stop destination for all competitive exams aspirants. We have been witnessing a growing demand for exam preparation books for some time. In fact, exam preparation books emerged as the third most popular genre in books across all cities as per Amazon.in’s Reading Trends Report 2015” said Noor Patel, Director Category Management, Amazon India.

Patel mentioned that the government exam vacancy preparation books is the fastest growing subcategory followed by English language learning books. “Responding to this requirement, we decided to launch Exam Central to enable students as well as other exam aspirants, an easy and convenient access to a wide selection of exam preparation content to help them prepare better for exams,” he added.
For easier access Exam Central is designed into sub-categories of relevant exam content. The store has a feature of ‘Shop by Exam’ and ‘Exam Calendar’ that include the relevant books and upcoming exam dates respectively. Students can also download sample question papers and articles free of cost.
With over 40 million products across various categories and excellent consumer facility, Amazon took this sophisticated approach to launch a different genre of education, thus becoming the first e-commerce website in India to launch this kind of exam portal.
According to a PwC report, with increasing trend of online shopping in India, online retail would account 3% of total by 2020. Effect has seen when Amazon showed up 200% growth in overall book category. Now it would be seen, how Exam Central will help Amazon to expand its business.
