AKTU to hold UPSEE 2017 in April, Apply online from 15 January

Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University has proposed to hold the State Entrance Examination (UPSEE 2017) in the month of April. As soon as the decision to hold the exam was taken, the University also announced the important dates. The application form will be available online from 15th January, while the last date has been fixed as 24th March.

AKTU had earlier sought permission to carry out the admission process for its affiliated colleges through national-level engineering entrance examination, but the same was rejected by the State Government. The Government instead asked the university to continue with its own State entrance examination. In this regard, a meeting of the varsity officials was held on 4th January under the chair of University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Vinay Kumar Pathak.

After the meeting, University PRO Ashish Mishra briefed that the decision has been taken to hold the UPSEE 2017 in April and the application form will be available online on www.upsee.nic.in from 15 January onwards. He also informed that the University administration has made Aadhaar card number mandatory for all applicants. The decision has been taken on the lines of major entrance exam – JEE Main for which CBSE made Aadhaar mandatory for all applicants.

The University will continue the UPSEE 2017 application process till 5 pm on 24 March, after which the applicants will be given a three-day window to make corrections in the submitted application forms. The admit cards will also be issued to the applicants online and the exam will be held on April 16, 22 & 23, 2017.

The University has increased the application fee of UPSEE 2017. The candidates belonging to general and OBC category will be required to pay Rs. 1200 as application fee, the fee has been increased by Rs. 200 from last time. Similarly, the fee has been increased by Rs. 100 for SC, ST & Girls, now these candidates will have to Rs. 600 as application fee.

UPSEE 2017 would be organized across the State as well as in some major cities including Bhopal, Dehradun, Jaipur, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, Patna, and Ranchi. The details about eligibility, age limit, and others will be available in the information brochure to be released in few days.
