Air India has released a notification to hire 961 Aircraft Technicians and the recruitment process will begin from August 20. Air India Engineering Services Limite (AIESL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Air India Limited has invited applications from Indian citizens for filling 961 vacancies of Aircraft Technician. AIESL is an Aircraft Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul Organisation and is approved by Directorate General of Civil Aviation, India.
The 961 vacancies notified by Air India are divided as 489 for general category candidates, 258 for OBC, 143 for SC and 71 for ST category candidates. The applicants are required to have Diploma/Certificate in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering from DGCA approved institutions with 60 percent marks (55 percent marks for reserved category candidates).
The application process would commence on August 20 and the candidates would be able to apply online for Air India recruitment on or before September 30, 2016. The candidates are required to fill the online application form and get a printout of the filled form. An application fee of Rs. 1000 through online SBI Bank Challan is to be paid by general and OBC candidates, the SC/ST/Ex-servicemen candidates are exempted from paying the application fee. The filled application form (printout) along with all testimonials in support of qualification, age, original bank challan, category certificate, ID proof to the Post-box no. 12006, Cossipore Post Office, Kolkata-700002. The hard copy of the application form attached with all the documents must reach to the authorities by October 31, 2016.
Air India would organise a written test in New Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad to shortlist the candidates. The selected candidates would be informed through Air India official site in the last week of January 2017.
The finally selected candidates will be placed under training for one year period and would be eligible for Rs 15,000 during this period. The candidates would be placed as Aircraft Technician upon the successful completion of training at a salary of Rs. 17,680. The recruitment process would lead a candidate to a fixed term contract for an initial period of 5 years (extendable for 5 years period).
