Central Board of Secondary Education announced the exam date of AIPMT 2015 to meet up the deadline set by the Hon. Supreme Court. The All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Test for admission to the academic session 2015-16 would be re-conducted on 25 July, as per the notification.
The decision came in the wake of the order by Supreme Court which states that CBSE needs to re-conduct the test. Earlier the entrance exam was conducted on 3 May and after two days, Haryana Police reported that few candidates used advanced technology to pass the answer keys. The case was discussed in the Supreme Court and the bench of Justice RK Agrawal & Justice Amitava Roy came to the conclusion of re-conducting the entrance exam to maintain the dignity of the exam process and education system of the Country.
The final decision was issued on 19 June and Supreme Court ordered the Board to conduct fresh test so that the admission process can be continued before the commencement of academic session. CBSE asked the Court to allow at least three months time so that exam could be conducted with due precautions. But Supreme Court allowed only two months time so that admissions could be done in time. Court ordered CBSE to announce the results by 17 June.
Only those applicants who have applied for the entrance test would be allowed to appear for the re-test, more details would be updated by the Board within few days. CBSE is taking each step cautiously to avoid such incidents and hence each candidate would have to furnish some steps before taking the exam.
AIPMT re-exam would be conducted at more than 1000 centres across the Country and approximately 6.50 lakh candidates would have to take the exam again to crack a seat in the medical/dental colleges across the Country.
