AIBE 2017 Registration yet to commence, Bar Council delays exam

Advocates, in addition to being professionals, are also officers of the courts and play a vital role in the administration of justice. With this objective in mind, The Bar Council of India has been conducting All India Bar Examination (AIBE) usually twice every year. The object of this exam being the assurance with respect to the quality of the fresh law graduates who are to start Advocacy at various courts in India.

However, no such confirmed registration has yet been started also no date has been confirmed yet. Speculations have flooded the whole academic and professional arena regarding the delay in the conduction of the said examination. Few people think that this might be owing to the controversy started due to the objection by few Advocates who thought that such exam is nonetheless going to cast hardship to the fresh law graduates.

The examination consists of objective multiple choice questions pertaining to the important laws of the country and is open book where students can carry Bare Acts inside the examination center. However, many preparatory materials are also available in the market where students can practice for the same.

All India Bar Examination was thought necessary after a committee report suggested changes in the rule for the enrollment of students as an advocate which was usually hampered due to the rapid growth of many touts in the field of law and it was appreciated by people everywhere in the country from the legal fraternity.

Candidates those will fill the application form through online mode, not need to send the hard copy of the application form & other documents to the BCI office. Before filling the application form candidates would have to be ready with the given document:

  • Scanned photograph & signature
  • Enrollment Certificate
  • Advocate ID card (if issued by State Bar Council)
  • Category Certificate (if applicable)
  • Disability certificate (if applicable)

All the candidates applying for the AIBE 2017 online application, they have to pay Rs. 2500 + Rs 60 as bank transaction charge. Candidates would have to deposit the application fee only through Challan from any branch of the State Bank of India. The last date for Payment of Challan for Online and Offline Application will be the second week of February 2017 (tentative). The payment through any other mode will not be accepted. The fee is non-refundable.
