After almost 3 days, an exact update has been given by the IAF in relation to the Air Force Common Admission Test. The online registration process for AFCAT 2018 was due to commence on December 16, however, the newly launched examination portal (www.careerindianairforce.cdac.in) showed only a message ‘Online Registration will commence soon’ till now. IAF has come up with the update and according to it, the online registration will be available on 19th December 2017 by 6 pm. Site maintenance has been cited as a reason for this delay by IAF.
Around 3-4 lakh aspirants take the AFCAT exam usually and when the IAF announced that it will conduct the AFCAT exam as a computer-based test (for the first time) in February and the application process will begin from December 16, they started accessing the new examination portals – careerindianairforce.cdac.in and afcat.cdac.in. The portal, till now, displayed that the application will start soon, but finally, the exact confirmation is available now. AFCAT 2018 application process will start from 6 pm on December 19.
As per the earlier information available from IAF, the application process of AFCAT 1 2018 was to be carried out from December 16, 2017, to January 14, 2018. As the commencement of application process has got delayed by 4 days, it is yet to be known whether this will result in the extension of the last date of application or not. IAF is also expected to announce the AFCAT exam date soon.
AFCAT 1 2018 will be conducted in February and the qualified candidates will be inducted in the courses commencing from January 2019. The candidates can opt for Flying Branch, Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) branches while submitting the application form of AFCAT 2018.
The candidates can check the last year’s AFCAT notification to check the basic requirements for filling AFCAT application form in order to get ready with the required credentials including scanned photograph, signature, and other documents. The candidates should also remember that they will be required to furnish their Aadhaar card details to fill AFCAT form.
