The Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) had last year notified the general recruitment under Group-II services for which the applications were submitted from December 31 to February 9. The Commission had scheduled the written exam for April 24 & 25, however, the exam was postponed to add up new vacancies under the recruitment. A fresh notification was released by the TSPSC on September 1, 2016 adding 593 vacancies to the already notified 439 vacancies. The written exam is scheduled to be held in November for a total of 1032 posts under Group-II services.
The candidates who could not apply for the Group-II services recruitment earlier were allowed to do the same from September 2 as the link for online application was once again activated. The Commission had initially set September 23 as the last date for submission of Online application, however, the last date was extended to September 26 as the payment gateway on the official web portal was not accepting the payments.
The Commission had initially set November 12 and 13 as the dates for the written examination, however, as the Union Public Service Commission had scheduled the main exam of Indian Forest Services 2016 for November 12, the schedule of the written exam was changed. TSPSC issued a press note on September 19 citing that the Group-II Services Paper I & II have been advanced to November 11 as exam date. The remaining schedule of TSPSC Group II exam remains same.
TSPSC Group II Services Exam
The selection process for Group-II Services posts includes a written exam and interview. The candidates obtaining minimum qualifying marks in the written exam would be put up in a merit list. The shortlisted candidates in order of merit will be called for interview in a ratio of 1:2. The final selection would be on the basis of the candidates’ performance in the written exam and interview put together. The selection would be on the basis of the marks scored by the candidates from 600 marks in the written exam and 75 marks in the interview.
TSPSC Group II Services written exam is divided into four papers. The candidates are required to appear for each paper and score minimum qualifying marks for inclusion in the merit list. The Paper I & II would be organised on November 11 in two shifts; Paper I from 10 am to 12.30 pm and Paper II from 2.30 pm to 5 pm. The same schedule would be followed on November 13, i.e. Paper III from 10 am to 12.30 pm and Paper IV from 2.30 pm to 5 pm. All the papers would consist of 150 questions, with each question having 1 mark and the candidates would be given 150 minutes to solve the question paper. The written exam would be held at Adilabad, Karimnagar, Warangal, Khammam, Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Nizamabad, Mahaboobnagar, Medak, Nalgonda and important sub centres in the District.
As per the reports, the Commission has received a whooping 8.18 lakh applications for Group-II Services posts. Considering the large number of applications received for TSPSC Group II services exam, the State government, last month, decided to start television classes. The decision was taken as most of the candidates belong to the rural areas. Mana TV was selected to broadcast the live or recorded coaching classes for Group-II candidates. The coaching classes through TV channel are being telecasted in two slots – from 7 am to 9 am and 5 pm to 7 pm. The recorded coaching classes are also available on YouTube.
